Friends, Gamers, PC builders, lend me your ears. I have news of giveaways and amazing prizes.

A happy community is a healthy community and what gamers love more than anything is great games. But since XPG doesn't make games (yet) the best we can do is offer you ways to better enjoy great games made by the companies that do make them. To that end, every month XPG GRIT will hold a giveaway event for different prizes.

Each month we will host a different giveaway with new prizes and ways to enter/win. Each month's giveaway post will always be pinned near the top of the "Fun & Games" category of the blog. We will also include the names of the winners in the post as an easy way to see if you won. So make sure you check back often for updates.

It's October and that means it's time to get spooky. To celebrate the Halloween festivities, this month's giveaway is all about horror games. Leave a comment on this post about your favorite horror game. Tell us which game it is, what you liked about it, and why it's your favorite horror game of all time. It can be an old game or a new game. It can be any gameplay genre. It just has to be a scary/horror themed game. Only one entry per a user but feel free to discuss games with others in the comments.

8 random users from the comments section will be selected as our winners for this month. You will be awarded one key for the horror game Dark Deception courtesy of Glowstick Entertainment.

3. What can I win?

A: For the month of October 2021, you can win one Steam key for the horror game Dark Deception by Glowstick Entertainment.

4. Who is eligible to win?

A: The giveaway is open to all participants worldwide. The only restriction is that you must be 18 or older or have a parent or legal guardian claim the prize for you if you are selected as a winner.

5. Can I win more than one time?

A: Each account can only win one time in any given month but it is possible to win giveaways in future months after having already won a giveaway in a past month.

6. What do I have to say in the comment in order to be eligible to win?

A: The comment must answer the following question in some form: What is your favorite horror game and why?

7. Can spam comments win?

A: No. If a comment is determined to be spam or low effort such as "I just want to win the giveaway", it will not be eligible to win the giveaway.

8. How many people can win?

A: For the month of October 2021, 8 winners will be selected to win one Steam key for the horror game Dark Deception by Glowstick Entertainment.

9. How do I know if I won?

A: There will be two different ways to verify that you have won. A reply comment from one of the XPG admins will be left tagging the winner on this blog post. An email will be sent to the email account associated with the winning commenter's profile, notifying the winner. After the winner has claimed their prize via email, the winner's name will be added to the list in this post.

10. What do I need to do after I've been declared a winner?

A: You need to reply to the winner notification email with the requested information within 48 hours of it being sent, in order to claim your prize.

11. What will happen if I don't reply to the winner notification email within 48 hours?

A: A new winner will be selected and your name will be replaced in the list of winners on this post.

12. When is the last day to enter this giveaway?

My favorite horror/spooky game (so far) has got to be Hellpoint by Cradle Games (PC). The atmosphere is creepy, the combat is satisfying, and the gameplay is rewarding, so long as you die and try again.

Prefer to play the outlast. But the best horror game for me is still the subnautica. It has a great balance between nice and horror situations.

My favorite horror game is definitely Little Nightmares. It's a horror game that doesn't destroy your ears with a cheap jumpscare, there's no deep lore to keep up with, the atmosphere plays along perfectly with the gameplay, etc.

My favourite horror game is five night's at freddys 3. I like the style it has and story behind it. It has best story in whole series in my opinion. It's also the scariest one right now.

Favorite horror game is Resident Evil 2/remake. I love the survival horror elements and replayability with A and B scenarios for each character. RE2 remake is probably the best reimagining of a game. Mr. X was terrifying as hell.

FATAL FRAME II Crimson Butterfly, I like the gameplay of it because to kill a ghost you need to use an old antique camera. My favorite because it is still the scariest game for me up until now and it has great storyline.

The Suffering. I remember playing it with my brother many years ago, at night, and it used to scare the crap out of us =) Being followed by a monster with swords for limbs scrapping across the walls... The stuff of nightmares!

I don't play a lot of horror games but if i had to choose one i would say the fiest five nights at freddy's game. It has a good mix of stress and terror and has a simple concept that makes it easy to get through but hard at the same time.

At Dead of Night by Baggy Cat ltd due to its immersion of being played out like a live action film, the stories and the satisfaction of finishing them, and the ending pulls my heartstrings in an empathetic way. You might feel sorry for this villain.

My favorite horror game has to be Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The atmosphere the game gives off really puts you on the edge of your seat. And the anxiety and dread the game can make you feel when your being chased is amazing.

Ironically, I really love Dark Decpetion. I first fell in love with it when I saw Pinkstylist play it a few years back, and then recently got back into it when I saw Manly's videos. The whole atmosphere drew me in and it's creator is amazing lol

So far my favorite horror game has been Paratopic. It's a very short game at about 45 minutes, and it's not really all that scary most of the time. But the ambiance and music are simultaneously intriguing and unnerving in a way that really captivates me.

Ive been playing so many horror games since 90s and the only game that scares me the most was Outlast 1 & 2. Just hearing Marta with her mumblings makes me scared enough to hesitate to continue to play even though ive already beat the game twice.

My favourite horror game will probably be Amnesia The Dark Descent. Creepy atmosphere combined with not being bombarded by jumpscares makes this game on of a kind. Music changing from intense to calm and creppy makes it even better.

Hiii! Hello! When I was a kid, I bought a lot of game packs for my PS2 and in one of these was a horror game called Rule of Rose, I loved it! It was like a silent hill mixed with Alice in Wonderland. a charming but terrifying atmosphere at the same time

Mine is Fran Bow, it definitely gives me the creepy vibes that just build up as I continue the game. Its intriguing n mesmerizing to play. It isn't time-demanding I can genuinely enjoy it. But, I most absolutely loved its simple storyline n the plot twist
